Its better to go to Malaysia, You can just go to JB and take flight to Penang and take ferry to Langakwi, it will be a great experience and cheap too.... and more over the politcal situation in Bangkok is not good... so its better to avoid....other options are Indonesian islands.... try to find out packages for that....
Enjoy have a nice holiday, but book early to avoid holiday rush....
