Hi Shruthi,

If you are going to deliver the baby in Singapore or India....first select
that and try not to tell this news in the early stages of your pregnancy... .
My wife goes for the regular chek up with NUH, but I dont want to recommend
them for you since i have faced so many difficulties, but I can share my
views so that it will be useful for you...I believe.

I would like to share few of my experiences with the Singapore Hospital.
Group...if you have any second thought, please post it.... let us share our
experience here...

( 1 ) According to my experience with my wife's pregnancy... here general
hospital mentality is something different.. If you planned to give birth
here, the treatment is fine, if it is the other way ( moving to India for
birth), the treatment is totally different... we had a bitter experience. I
am not saying that this happens to all. But as far as I gathered information
from my colleagues and singapore settled indians - this statement is almost
true.

( 2 ) We should be careful while selecting Doctors or consulting doctors in
the Govt hospital or with their private clinic. Again the treatment will be
different. You can find quite no of difference in consultation.

( 3 ) Almost hospitals are becoming commercialised. Singapore is also not an
exception.

( 4 ) They dont prescirbe so many medications unlike India... I appreciate
this part in singapore doctors. They consider the pregnancy is part and
parcel of life and they treat casullay.

( 5 ) But casual kind of treatment will lead to endanger sometimes - even
though we are under emergency, they do strictly follow the rules like
appointment, booking for room, timings, procedures etc. OOpppps... faced so
many bitter experiences. ...

( 6 ) Then and there, chek with the Doctors in India about your queries....

( 7 ) Being a Mother to be and Father to be - we are experiencing a new
lifestyle, but for the doctors - they are seeing 1000's of patients like
us... so they do treat us one among them...They dont care for our doubts...

( 8 ) To my opinion, doctors ( even though profession ) need to have
humanity and service mind to some extent when compared to other profession,
becuase we are considering them as NEXT TO GOD... in life saving....

Doctors..... ..... if you are a member of this group...please realize your
role ...this is my humble request...

I am not blaming every hospital and every doctors... there are still good
doctors and hospitals are there.
I am talking about the hospitals and doctors - whose mentality is
commercialised. . ...........

Take care Shruthi..... . .All the very Best........

Cheers,

Arun.
