Re: [EZLINK] query about CPF

Hi

Even the people who are in Employement Passes also can contribute CPF but not MUST, for more detail you can call & check with CPF Board.

But PR must contribute CPF since do not have options. Because Employer themselves will take a part of salary for the CPF contribution.

I do see people who do not want to become PR because of CPF contribution.

So, it is not a great idea to put your money in to CPF if anyone say it retutns good. Its not true also.

They will split the amount you wish to put in, in to three as Ordinary Acc, Special Acc and Medisave Acc.

For SA and Medisave, they give better interest rate comparing to OA. But most of the amount will go in to OA. So you cannot expect more return.

Also SA and Medisave you can't utilise unless you are interested to invest in mutual fund, unit trusts and stocks from SA and to spend medical expenses from Medisave

Talking about OA, you can use for buying house in singapore, this is the most option every one will do, other options education, stocks etc.

So better consider good way of investing in india since it is already in the track of going up.

Good Luck.

hi guru..

as per the singapore rule you cannot put ur money in CPF only when you are in PR. once you get PR then you can put ur money in CPF. it may b helpful for you to buy house, and many stuff etc.. you can go abroad anywhere when you are in PR... but i think it is the right time to you to apply for pr bcoz u have been in EP for more than 2 years... all the best for u..

Hi,
I am in S'pore on an EP (have been here for 2+ yrs).
Can I put in some money in CPF?
I am told that returns are good.
Any pointers to this would be appreciated.
Thanks,
