Re: [EZLINK] How to India citizens apply for jobs in Singapore
Hi,
I think its high time that we need to remove the perception that Indian IT professionals are cheap and thats the reason for so many Indians are in IT across the world. We are in demand in various parts of the world due to the following reasons,
- Our ability to acquire new technologies.
- Our Engineering and strong educational background
- Our language skills as all Indians are proficient in English and this is not the case with Japanese, Chinese or other nationals.
- Our ability to adjust to new conditions
Its very painful to see a comment from an Indian that Indians come to Singapore because they are cheap. But the fact is that, no one consider us as cheap. Being worked in various parts of world USA, Japan and now in Singapore, I can vouch that we are paid highly than the locals and cost is not the reason for recruiting us. Its the quality for which we are here and every where.
Please remove "CHEAP" from our minds and build a better Indian Brand.
Regards

Hello Sir,
Correct your statement. Its not necessary that Indian IT Pros working here are earning lesser Salary than locals!!!
There many Technologies where Locals cant enter and Indians dominate for example SAP,ORACLE APPS,JE EDWARDS,JAVA Banking etc etc there are many others. Potential guys in these areas earn more than Locals and cant even imagine!!
Indians are on an Average more paying for Rentals in Singapore than most of the Locals do!! Potential bank balance savers are Indians.....check with any ATM Technology Guy he will be able to tell what are the Balances which a Local have in their Accounts!!
Anyways this is always an argument our discussion may be heated!!
IT Freinds who are planning to coming over here:-
Just have a constant watch on Jobsdb.com,monster.com.sg and other sites available sites in Google search.
Good luck

Just my 2 cents...
People get jobs in Singapore if
1. They have a skillset which is not abundant in Singapore
2. They are willing to work on salary which is low for Singaporeans
Generally, this translates to IT jobs mostly, as most IT consultants find it
cheaper to hire Indian IT labour.
Commenting on the same, most Indians who come to Singapore work on lower
wages than their Singapore counterparts.
But why?
Because
1, they see it as an opportunity to work overseas.
2. they visualize their savings in Indian rupees.
But, thats just my opinion.
