Main Job Function
Development of applications from supplied functional specifications
covering all applications in use within the team. Unit and
integration testing of the developed code to the team standards.
Production and maintenance of all documentation.
The essential skills sought are VB, C#, Sybase, SQL Server
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Communication
• Must be able to communicate effectively with other development
team members, other project members, managers and business users.
• Must be able to participate in discussions within the team,
communicating any issues that have a project-wide scope to the
necessary level.
• Must be able to participate in a culture of "knowledge sharing"
within the development team.
Motivation
• Must be self-motivated, setting a high level of professionalism
and excellence.
Currently a team of 24 looking after the support, development and
Project Management of the GDSS group of applications.
The candidate will report to a team leader who is responsible for
the allocation and monitoring of tasks.
Skills / Aptitude Required
- Hands-on VB, C#, XML and RDBMS development skills
- Proven use of design patterns\best practices across a range of
applications and architectures.
- Understanding of development methodologies with proven hands-on
experience of working within a structured development environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
