Responsibilities: 60 % Sun Solaris and 40% Windows Admin
JOB PURPOSE:
* Working as a member of the Singapore support team providing
Second line technical support to new and established key clients.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES :
* To provide efficient, professional high quality second line
Support Service in accordance with the Service Level Agreement
* To accurately resolve problems (calls) by using analytical,
technical skills, implementing solutions to the customers' best
advantage
* To ensure calls are accurately investigated, and both the cause
and the symptom of problems are resolved taking into account customers'
business and operational practices
* To pro-actively take ownership of a wide variety of calls and
problems
* To manage, prioritize and progress calls under their own
initiative in accordance with the Industry Support standards and
practices
* To use the call logging system correctly, ensuring that calls
are updated on a regular basis with actions undertaken
* To project a professional image at all times and to build up and
develop good relationships with Customers and other Departments
* To continually and pro-actively acquire and retain knowledge of
the Systems supported.
KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:
* Preferably 3-5 years hands-on experience in supporting systems
infrastructure.
* Advantage to have a good knowledge of a structured programming
language with an understanding of databases.
* Advantage to have work experience of Veritas NetBackup.
* Advantage to have working knowledge of Computer Networks.
* Able to investigate unfamiliar problems and generate effective
solutions in a systematic and logical manner
* Has excellent customer care and strong interpersonal skills
* Able to maintain a professional standard of communication at all
levels
* Is adaptable and able to work effectively as part of a team
* Able to remain calm under pressure and manage stressful
situations while maintaining a professional image
* Adopts a positive, pro-active approach to work
Requirements:
* Prefer candidate with a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate
Diploma, Professional Degree Computer Science/Information Technology or
equivalent. Experienced engineers with Polytechnic Diplomas from
Singapore may apply.
* Required skill(s): UNIX (Solaris, HP-UX or AIX), Windows.
* Required language(s): English.
