Contract duration:One year
We are looking for a DBA who has the following skill-set
* 3-5yrs Experience in Oracle DB Adminstration On HP-Unix & NT and
at-least 1 year experience on SQL Server DB Admin on NT
* Experience in Support environment
Respncibilities-:
. Support: server design for hosted databases on Microsoft NT and HPUX
servers, database client access solutions, support of application
upgrades and database patches.
Provide ongoing 3rd level Oracle and SQL Support,
Oversee the Service Desk ticket system and resolve Incident/Problem and
Service calls in a timely manner depending on the priority of the ticket
and using the IT Support Processes.
Provide off-hours on-call support
Ensuring the latest patches are installed on time based on the Security
Guidelines.
New Oracle and SQL database installation based on Customer Request using
the Customer Build Standards.
- Implementation
- Identify and execute project tasks (e.g. upgrades,
migrations, new installations, tools installations, design
configurations, etc.) as defined
- Provide inputs/feedback/consultation for database related
issues in projects
- Work with the client staff to develop and improve patch
management solution and assist in it's implementation-
- Follow the process of commission/de-commission of databases
to/from support as necessary
- Provide reports on all project activities
- Manage the operation databases, monitor and make changes to
improve database performance: review applications and recommend
modifications to improve data access performance: design and code
utilities to support the database administration function and
maintenance of backup operations.
- Develop new or modify existing solutions for the customer's
reporting needs using database vendor reporting tools and third party
reporting applications.
- Create and modify database scripts for required maintenance
and support
