[EZLINK] Urgent Requirement for Sybase DBA
Hi,
We have the following urgent requirement for our client in Singapore
We are in need of a DBA on contract for 6 months to start with. It could
be extendable further based on the projects and other requirements.
* In depth DBA Knowledge on Sybase ASE-12_x and Replication server
12_x with additional knowledge on RDBMS such as Oracle 9i, MS-SQL Server
2k.
* Working knowledge on Sun Solaris Unix and Wintel Operating
systems.
* Maintain and Support Database products and DB related tools.
* Create, Maintain, Upgrade, Tune database instances and
troubleshoot database issues in the quickest possible maintenance
window.
* Awareness of DB Security, Password maintenance, Access control
and Implementation of security guidelines with relevance to banking
industry.
* Coordination with colleagues from other departments/ locations,
Application developers, users, operators and database vendors.
* Monitor and optimize the performance of the physical database.
* Plan and implement the backup and recovery of the databases.
* Debug database system problems and apply fixes including
security fixes if necessary.
* Configure database health checks and monitoring tools and alerts
for databases.
* Quickly take corrective actions on the findings on Health Checks
findings.
* Create and maintain awk/sed shell/pearl scripts / OS related to
physical database administration.
* Create and Schedule Database Maintenance
(eg.Reindex/Reorgs/DBCC/Updstats etc).
* Independently able to track & manage all issues to closure.
* Should be a team player with exemplary skills on problem
management and Client/user management with commitment, enthusiasm and
self motivation.
* Willingness to provide remote support on a 24/7 after office
Hours/weekends on a rotational basis.
The Job-location is Singapore.
6 Months Contract, extendible.
Salary-Open for negotiation.
Open to all candidates but must be available in Singapore for an
interview if short listed.
