1. From India when you travel to the East of US (Boston) no need to touch Singapore. If you are travelling to the West of US (California) then flying via Singapore, Taipei Seoul is common. The Best I would say would be from India.
2. Especially do not carry any liquids. Now even a cough syrup would result in time waste at the US immigration. Max u need to drink it to prove that its a cough syrup. If currently u have no four wheeler in US carry lot of eatables(Solids) since the grocery stores would be no way near as in Singapore/India. Do not put any Calculator/VPN Client Password generator in the cargo luggage. Ur Luggage would be opened and u will find a document pasted on the luggage which would read "FOR SECURITY REASONS NEEDED TO CHECK UR LUGGAGE". U can carry such small electronic items in ur hand luggage.
3. Now it will start snowing in Boston. In December the climate gets worsen. U need to carry good warm clothing at this time. U can get some very good stuff at Mustafa.
4. This is a Peak season. Anyways, if its one-way then u need to shell down more money. Touchbase with any travel agents, u may be lucky to get a promo offer. I would say prefer a good flight since its goin to be a long/tyring journey.
