CG Software Developers
Department: Lucasfilm Singapore
Location: Singapore
Position Summary: Two mid-level positions based in our newly created Singapore Animation Studio in order to support the software and systems used in the production of CG animation. In addition to maintaining and enhancing existing software and/or systems, individuals filling the positions will participate in the design and development of new software and/or systems.
Responsibilities:
Primarily responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of production software and/or systems. This includes bug fixing, upgrades, enhancements and integration into the production pipeline
Diagnoses and effects resolution of end-user problems
Participates in development projects under the guidance of departmental project leads
Serves as an initial point of support and knowledge resource for software and/or systems used in production at LAL/LAS
Communicates with end-users and end-user groups to determine technical requirements and disseminate information regarding project status
Acts as a liaison between outside vendors and the department for purposes of coordination of maintenance and bug fixing
Education, Experience and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Scientific discipline required. Advanced degree preferred
2 years demonstrated experience in software or systems development for computer graphics, including one or more of the following areas: Animation Systems, Modeling Tools, Compositing Systems, Renderers and Shaders, Distributed Processing Systems
Significant experience and working knowledge of software development using C. Scripting experience desired, preferably in Python
Experience using, and/or developing software under, one or more of the following operating systems: Linux, MS Windows
Maya experience preferred, with experience in MEL scripting and Maya plugins
Must be able to work well with a wide range of personality types. Ability to work in all levels of the organization
Must be detail oriented, have strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
Demonstrated ability to use logic to problem-solve. Willingness to take initiative and resolve problems
Experience supporting End Users is required. Must be customer service orientated
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high attention to detail and quality control
Ability to work well independently within a fast paced, dynamic, deadline orientated environment
