You kind find info about singapore Mutual Funds at fundsupermart.com. The only type of funds that satisfy your conditions (very short term, 6-8 months and capital protection) would be income funds or money market funds.
But the returns on these funds would be closely related to the general interest rates in the region and we all know that the interest rates in singapore are much less compared to India.
You can see here that the best Money Market fund gave a 1 year return of 4.1% whereas the best Money Market fund in India gave a return of 7%. Also the singapore based fund has a minimum investment requirement of S$1000.
So, maybe you should consider investing this amount in India instead (you can find info about Indian mutual funds at valueresearchonline.com)
