Training Instructor (Full-Time position)
General Characteristics
Provides in-house IT training to the staff on campus-wide software to
help them enhance effective teaching through appropriate use of IT.
Develop and customise in-house training materials. Co-ordinates
training needs of end-users, and plans training programmes. Manages
and oversees day-to-day operation and support of training facilities.
Assist in the rollout of new end-user software that requires training
support and development.
Representative Activities
1. Provides end-user IT training for campus-wide PC-based
software.
2. Maintain in-house course registration database and liaises
with department IT chairmen and staff in staff development
requirements.
3. Develop and customise on-line training materials on
Blackboard to be accessed by all SP staff.
4. Maintains in-house training web pages, publish bi-monthly
training schedules.
5. Develop and implement training programs and schedules. Co-
ordinates new projects that require training support and development.
6. Provides software consultancy and advice on the proper usage
of campus-wide software.
7. Explore new e-learning technology to improve on the online
training materials and to enhance effective teaching.
8. Understand Desktop Security Technology to help to instil IT
Security Awareness in all SP staff.
9. Manage staff training computer lab facilities, logistics set-
up and computer maintenance.
10. Co-ordinates all in-house training-related administration
duties. Prepare in-house training schedules, process registration and
attendance records, provide reports and training statistics for
management review.
Education & Experience
Bachelor degree or equivalent in Computer Science with at least 3
years¡¯ experience in end-user support and relevant IT teaching
experience.
