Re: [EZLINK] Mandrin speaking indians ?-YOU DARE

Hi All,

Well I do also faced such replys, I really do not understand is this reply is true enough. Few people in few company/companies will not understand the knowledge or the experience of a person, they do not know what IT is all about. As its mentioned in the below email IT works with brians not with races or anything else but still why people ask the person to know Mandrin? its very BIGsmall question in my thingings it may be like this few staff of the company may or may not be knowing english very well, in fact first when I landed in Singapore for the first time I too have faced communication problems... the person was unable to understand my english and I got confused that I was speaking a incorrect english!! later as days passed I understood the problem. So once a system is developed the end-user has to work with it, to work with it the user should understand the system or the work that he/she works on it which they wont at all... I have seen so many users who came to me
and asked silly questions, so if the person knows mandrin they can explain it and the user can understand, bcoz they don't want to update themself with the changes or they try either.

Secondly, coming to the recruiters they never be ashmed of it bcoz its afterall the dollers!!! its their business ooppsss sorry its BIZ-Ness you see....

No one can help or work out anything about this issue until the people understand it.

Thanks,

Hi All,

I think there is no need to send emails of mandrin speaking IT professionals.

All of us know the reality very well. The recruiters are under stress and have been told by the hiring manager that they need people of certain nationality/ethnic background. These guys dont have the courage to speak out so they will say they need mandrin speaking.

Most of the recruiters are Indians why are they ashmed to write the criteria and first of all such discrimination in the IT industry one can see in very few parts of the world now a days. IT goes by talent and language skills may be required if your client is in countries like China and Japan.

Rest assured we are smart enough to understand what someone means by saying they need a mandrin speaking programmer in Singapore.
So let some one send such requirement and we will chanllenge this openly ( meaning go to the press and the PMO office with such a email) It's high time people need to know the truth.

For some one who has suffered for a while under such climate you can count on me to speak out openly just point me out the email and the company name and you can be assured I would drag the person to court for this (Whatever be the out come )

This is 2006 and google is a established company now and I dont think that there is any need to be so petty for people to ask for programmers of certain ethnic decent. If people think they have such beliefs Let the world know about the companies,Managers and Recruiters who have such a belief and value system.

Just an after though those who dont know now Oracle's Database, Microsoft's database, SAP's ERP are "Made in India" There are development centers in Bangalore and Hyderabad who are doing this.I may not know whole list but there are more to this.

I am not being partiotic or anything like that but want people to open up and scale themselves up. And dont fight with people who have talent join them train hard and work harder.

Cheers

Hi

May be you are right,

but for those advertisers (job agencies / IT consultant companies) who are posting here may expects not only our Indian IT guys, but for also from Indian colleagues (office colleagues, i do have mandrian speaking friends) who can speak Mandrian. This way they can advertise here in order to benifit themself as they are Indian businessmans. They can post here being an Indian businessman in this IT Community. Why not?

Hi All,

Just a thought, how many of Indian's are seen talking Mandarin? recently i
have noticed a lots of requirement for Mandarin speaking IT consultants
which i feel are kind of denial of accepting Indian IT consultants. The
reason for the same is that there are only 1% Indian IT people who can talk
Mandarin. more so i saw lot of people denying house rent to Indians. what do
you guys say about this?

And on the other hand if indians can't speak mandrin then what is the point
sending the email requirment to indian IT community?
