If u go to Ameertech Remittance Centre u will get best exchange rate than mustafa.(Sometimes 50 cents + per SGD) .One more benefit is that within 10 mins u can withdraw money from your bank. I am using this facility.

Hi friends,

you can remitt money at mustafa centre... its attached to mustafa travels and u can get best exchange rates avaialable in singapore... just a matter of taking DD and send by registered post to ur respective bank in india or at home address... u wil get postal service in mustafa itself -Basement 2.. I always used to send money by this option...

Hi,
Can you tell me location of the SBI brach office in Little India. I have seen only the Bank of India recently opened, which is anyway different from SBI.

Shameem you are right, here its a big task to transfer money to India other than ICICI. You dont even have chance to seek good exchange rates. Without competition it is like monopoly.

In Dubai you have a large number of money exchanges around, you always get good exchange rates and you can choose the excahnges which has direct link with your banks in India. Iam recently shifted from Dubai.

Cheers.

Hi Shameem,

I prefer to go with the nationalised bank rather than the so called MNC's !!!

Do check this and decide

Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) will charge you $6 for any amt of transation, to metros it is 24 hrs, and rest places depends.. they have a branch in Cecil Street and near to little india.. www.iobsingapore. com

SBI : they have one branch nearer to mustafa, they charge $10 dollar till 5 Lakhs...

both are a/c to a/c transfer, if you want to transfer to an other account charges may go up.. I am not sure on this.. but if you have an NRI / NRE account with SBT, then you can operate that through SBI here..

Hi Folks,
Not sure if my previous mail reached the groups or not.. hence resending

I am looking for the a good and cheap way to remit money from singapore dollars to my NRI account in India. I have an account with State Bank of Travancore (SBT). I checked out with banks like HSBC and DBS but they are charging 30 to 40$ for a Telegraphic Transfer. Which I felt was very expensive.

I was in Dubai previously and it was really easy to do it from there from the various money exchanges.

Looking for some valuable advice or tips from the group..

Regards
Shameem
